Ranch Girl
I don't remember catching on to things as fast as this girl. Or having as much confidence in the saddle. Or looking so cute 😉I've been thinking a lot about the things my kids miss out on, because the ranch has always taken precedence over sports or vacations or other things non-ranching families do.Sometimes I worry my girls aren't getting to play basketball with their girlfriends or swimming in the lake or camping all summer. And then I see my oldest in her saddle, and my fears are gone. She's learning teamwork. Her horse teaches her patience and humility. She is gaining confidence in her choices and learning when she screws up. She is getting fresh air, is being active, and is having fun.Our kids are getting to spend precious time with their grandparents, and learning about what pays our bills. There will be plenty of years for playing ball if they want. But for now, this is life- and I don't think they will look back and be sad about any minute they spent in the saddle, in the tractor, or riding on the 4-wheeler with their grandma.Their childhood is different than most other kids we know. And for that, I am most thankful. ❤Love,Richelle
