This Life We Live

This is a lifestyle, not a job we applied for.

It has come with tears. Dirty words. Dirty clothes. Too many beers to count. Many sacrifices. Empty promises and empty checkbooks.

It has also come with unforgettable experiences. Learning curves. Laughter. Togetherness. Success.

Being willing to learn from the generations before us isn't always easy. We all think we know it all- but why re-create the wheel? Most of the time, our parents had the same discussion with their parents 20 or 30 years ago, so they have some insight. Not always right, but, sometimes they have good ideas.

Our ranch is our business, yes. A family business- ran by down to earth, hardworking people who want to see the grass grow under the feet of healthy, content cattle.

This is where we have our staff meetings. Our kids supervise, help keep us engaged and entertained, and are in the thick of all the jobs, even when they are unpleasant.

It isn't a job. It isn't a Monday through Friday, just pays- the- bills, answer to "The Man" kind of life. It is a lifestyle, a legacy, all-in heart and soul, way of life.
